YOUR BEST SOURCE
FOR INDUSTRIAL/COMMERCIAL ENGRAVING NEEDS
We supply electrical tags (or lamacoids), valve tags, machinery identification plaques, office signs, washroom signs, trophy/heirloom plaques, stencils and plastic cutting.
Have a look at our Engraving/Signage Page for materials that can be cut or engraved and pictures of our past jobs. We also supply inexpensive sign standoffs in Aluminium and Stainless Steel for those signs that are just that much cooler.
Mechatronics is the fusion of mechanical and electrical. When we opened 5 years ago, we began providing electrical solutions for pilot car signs. Now we have wireless solutions for many different applications. Beyond wireless solutions we can also supply DIY 3D printers and parts.
With the combination of a laser engraver, 3D printing and our design background, the project possibilities are endless, contact us with any questions or ideas.
Electronics has always been one of our cores. We have been doing electrical control projects since 2011. Almost anybody can hook up a set of driving lights and many people could make the installation look good, but there is more to it than that. Our first projects were pilot car signs. These signs live in a harsh environment, the wind, the rain, the salt all cause havoc with wiring. We take waterproofing seriously and after all these years, we haven’t had any warranty work from corrosion.
Another hidden cost we can help you avoid is buying over-sized wires, it is unnecessary and gains you nothing, except a longer install and more expense. Our first generation pilot car signs could be completely removed and re-installed in a weekend (comparatively, some home made ones were taking a week to change), and our new generation takes even less time.
The easiest way to speed up installation times is to reduce the wiring, and the easiest way to do that is to eliminate as many wires as possible. We now have wireless controllers that have up to 16 individually fused outputs and that have a range of between 5m for our Bluetooth models to 300m for our radio models. Both these models can handle up to 10A and 120VAC per channel, more than enough power for most applications.
Maybe all that isn’t challenging enough? Maybe you would like to build your own action figures? Why not build your own 3D printer. DIY models are reasonably inexpensive and are very interesting to build. We can supply you with a RepRap 3D printer if you are looking for a challenge.
Once you can control higher power with lower power, the sky is the limit for your projects.
WHAT CAN WE DO?
Welcome to our engraving section. We do all kinds of engraving on all kinds of materials. The typical engraving material for electrical tags, office name plates or other forms of basic signage is multi-coloured acrylic. This comes in many colour combinations and provides a nice contrast.
Clear acrylic is another elegant signage material. The laser can make very shallow cuts which show up as white on the acrylic. This can be reverse engraved (engraved on the back side) to give a smooth viewing surface.
When your signage needs to be just that little bit more special and you don’t want to have to remove it from the walls to paint, or you don’t want to damage the walls with mounting, why not check out our aluminium or stainless steel standoffs. These pieces of metal make it easy to remove the sign if you need to paint the wall or to change it if you need a different sign. In three easy steps you can have an elegant sign.
Perhaps you just need a plastic backing for a vinyl sign? Laser cutting acrylic is fast and quite cost effective and provides a much better cut surface than using a saw. One look and you will never want to use a saw again.
We also have material for machinery serial number plates. The process is fast and the number plate can be customized with whatever information is needed, including bar codes, QR codes and engraved data. The material can also be stamped as well.
There are many other materials that can be engraved or cut. Check out this list for some common materials. Note, most soft materials can be cut, but there are a few exceptions, vinyl for instance creates Hydrochloric Acid when it burns and corrodes the machine, and Polycarbonates cut with a large brown burn mark.
Whether it is a simple door tag or a trophy plaque, we have your solution. Please contact us if you'd like to know about a material not on the list.
